About

My Approach

I am skilled in both brief and long-term therapeutic techniques. I use a transtheoretical paradigm that integrates evidence-based psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioural, and family systems approaches. Our sessions will be scheduled at mutually agreed-upon intervals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Therapy is tailored to each client's unique needs and circumstances. It involves fostering a deeper comprehension of one's relational patterns, understanding the role of previous experiences in the development of these, and supporting transformation, healing, and change. This exploration aims to cultivate a reflective, compassionate, and more authentic relationship with both yourself and others. Together, we will unearth and integrate those aspects of yourself that may have been previously inaccessible, doing so in a gentle and empathic manner within a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Professional Experience

I have experience working across a wide array of contexts, public and private, and with individuals across the lifespan. This includes working with conditions such as severe anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental concerns, trauma, chronic disease, and severe adult mental health. I have provided one-on-one and group treatment, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Previous research conducted has sought to understand the neuroplasticity of fear and anxiety pathways in the brain and psychosocial profiles within high school environments.

I hold a strong belief in the transformative potential of recognising and harnessing an individual's strengths and resources to enhance their overall quality of life. My therapeutic alliance is characterised by a warm and empathetic demeanour, free from judgement, creating a secure and supportive space for both my clients and their families to thrive.

I use a Neurodiversity Affirming Approach which aims to acknowledge and respect neurological differences as natural variations of the human mind, rather than pathologies that need to be “fixed” or changed to become neurotypical. Integral are principles such as acceptance, empowerment, respect for autonomy, understanding and validation, education, collaboration, advocacy, and reducing stigma. Group Work

I have an active interest in establishing neurodivergent therapeutic groups. Group work offers a safe and supportive space to validate and normalise your experiences, as well as heal through learning about the stories of others and/or their similar lived experiences. They offer the opportunity to hear about the different experiences and approaches others may have to similar situations as your own, which may offer a new perspective or highlight ways to move forward. You may also develop a sense of increased confidence in your capacity to communicate and support others in a group setting. These are only a few of the benefits of group work. There is opportunity for several groups for example, a neurodivergent women's group and/or late adult diagnosis group. If you are interested in participating in group work, please let me know and I can waitlist you. Please note that there are no groups running at this present time.
